Klaus see you expect people to pay to clean up YOUR lake. Lazy Hippies!!!! If only you were efficient like Klaus! You expect people to pay you to clean up lake. Kayak ride should be free if doing work to benefit your company. Klaus think you quite silly.

Thanks for your input, Klaus. However, it seems that you are misinformed about a few things.
First, the lake is not our lake. It's owned by the county. Therefore, it's not our official responsibility to clean it up when people decide that it's OK to use it as a dumpster. Of course, we do want to help out as much as possible when we are able. It would be great to offer free kayak rides in exchange for helping to clean things up. Unfortunately, it's just not within the realm of possibility for us to run our operation for free.
We charge kayak rental fees to support the mission of our organization (to get people outside), but the true cost to run the kayak concession is much greater than the fees incurred. We are also subsidized by our donors and foundations who also believe in and support our mission.
We simply offered this promotion as a community service for Allegheny County. Those who came out and helped clean up the trash realized this. Hopefully, you will now, too. We could use someone with so much efficiency.
