New Creative Policy Discussion Series Launches
PITTSBURGH – What happens when you mix outdoor activities with public policy discussions, while enjoying Pittsburgh’s natural beauty and amenities? You get Pedal, Paddle, Peduto. This summer, Venture Outdoors and Councilman William Peduto have joined forces to create a unique new opportunity for people to hike, bike, and kayak through Pittsburgh, while also learning about riverfront development, civic design, architecture, urban design, and the environment.

Three Rivers Kayaking Tour – June 14
Bill Peduto will join Lisa Schroeder from Riverlife, Tom Baxter from Friends of the Riverfront and Rob Pfaffmann from Pfaffmann and Associates for an educational kayak paddle along Pittsburgh’s three rivers. The group will discuss future riverfront development from the perspective of the waterfront, riverfront trails and urban architectural design.
Downtown Bike Tour – July 5
Bill Peduto will join Louise Sturgess from Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation, Don Carter from Urban Design Associates and Eve Picker from no walls productions for an educational bike tour along Pittsburgh’s downtown streets and riverfront trails. The group will discuss Pittsburgh’s history, unique architecture and urban planning.
City Parks Walkabout – August 2
Bill Peduto will join Marijke Hecht from TreeVitalize Pittsburgh at the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and representatives from the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and Friends of the Pittsburgh Urban Forest for an educational hike around Schenley Park. The group will discuss Pittsburgh’s development of our city parks, city trees and urban green spaces.
