335 Miles in 24 Hours: G-24 Relay Photos

September 28, 2009 by admin

In celebration of the G-20 Summit coming to Pittsburgh and to raise money for the Allegheny Trail Alliance, Venture Outdoors sponsored a G-24 Relay September 22-23. Fifteen cyclists rode 335 miles in 24 hours sustaining a speed of 15 mph for the entire trip! The riders rode through the night along the historic C & O Canal Towpath and Great Allegheny Passage, from Washington DC to Pittsburgh enjoying the wildlife and scenery the entire way!

Relay riders included: Geoff Tolley, John Smoker, Mark Susany, Micheal Mesoras, Mike Shafer, Tyler Emerick, Bob Sette, Todd Owens, Tim Inglis, Mark Imgrund, Bill Orr, Chris Corbran, Seth Gernot, Leon Simms, Michele Haalman, JoAnn Bary, Judy Melvin and representatives from local Trail Towns. Congratulations cyclists on a great ride!

Donations of support for the relay are still coming in, we’ll post a total soon. All donations will benefit the Allegheny Trail Alliance to help finish the trail between McKeesport and Pittsburgh.

See more photos from the ride on the Venture Outdoors Facebook Page.
