Board Member Bio: Pauline Tailor Raiff

In her work on the Board of Directors, Pauline serves as a liaison to the Trip Leader Council, which she also serves on. The people have spoken. We polled our audience on their favorite name for our new publication, and the winner is…The Trailhead! The first issue of The Trailhead should hit mailboxes anytime and contains our public programs planned for the next two months and exciting membership updates.

We are offering 62 programs over the next two months, including 22 hikes, 11 family trips, 12 cross country ski outings, 10 snowshoe outings, 6 leadership trainings and 1 winter camping introduction. All of these trips are geared to get you outside and active, while enjoying the winter landscape of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Hot on the heels of the largest, and one of the most prestigious, mountain festivals in the world, the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour has hit the road, with stops planned in about 285 communities and 30 countries across the globe.

The tour will land in Pittsburgh for two nights only, and will take over Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum in Oakland on Friday, April 9th and Saturday, April 10th. With room for almost 2,000 guests each night, it’ll be our biggest Banff yet!


This year’s tour features a collection of the most inspiring and thought-provoking action, environmental, and adventure mountain films. Traveling from remote landscapes and
