Cast on for Grand View Scenic Byway Park

January 21, 2010 by admin

Can you cable knit, purl or preform a yarn over? Yes, then volunteer this winter for Grand View Scenic Byway Park without even leaving your house! The Park is seeking anyone who can knit or crochet to make trail markers that will be tied around trees to display the park’s trail system.

Markers need to be rectangles 10 inches wide and anywhere between 24 and 64 inches long, and in one of three colors: red, blue, or yellow. Also biodegradable yarn-wool or cotton is a must!

Submissions can be mailed or dropped off at the MWCDC office at 301 Shiloh Street, 15211. Knit markers will be accepted until March 31, 2010. If you are interested in helping put the markers on the trails include your name, phone number, and email address with your submission. Homemade trail markers go up in April!
