Celebrating on Ice: MLK Day 2010
January 25, 2010 by admin
It’s one of our most hectic events of the year, but always one of the most fun. Our 8th annual MLK, Jr. Day in the Park celebration was Monday, January 18 at the Schenley Park Ice Rink.

While there was no snow for sledding and snowshoeing, the mild temperatures made for perfect ice skating. The rink was packed with over 290 people. For some it was their very first time on the ice, and for others it was their first time in a long time.
Inside children and parents enjoyed painting, button making, and a creative stained glass exercise. The Pitt African Drumming Ensemble provided lively entertainment throughout the afternoon and refreshments were provided by Whole Foods.
A big thanks to our partners SCA and Citiparks and to sponsors: Dominion, REI, Whole Foods, East End Food Co-op and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield for making this event possible!
