It was a beautiful day for a walk on Saturday, October 22, and we had a great group come out to enjoy the Jack O’ Lantern Walk in Schenely Park. In costumes aplenty (my favorite being the mummy!) we set out to take in a little history of Pittsburgh’s second biggest park.

It was a weekend of old-fashioned fun in the outdoors as we celebrated the National Wildlife Federation’s Great American Backyard Campout June 25-June 26. Sponsored by REI, the event took place at Raccoon Creek State Park and 23 participants enjoyed camping, hiking and learning in the great outdoors!

The sun was shining and there was a brisk chill in the air as families from around the city joined up to embark upon a historical winter walk in Allegheny Commons on the 12th of February. Our walk proved to be very interesting, as we learned about the rich history that encompasses this beautiful park.
