South Side Slopes Hike

It truly was a beautiful day for a hike! Saturday, April 4th Trip Leader Sarah Benson led over 30 people on a 4-mile hike around Pittsburgh’s historic South Side Slopes. Hiking the slopes means climbing lots of steps and that is just what we did! Hiking Pittsburgh’s steepest neighborhood is hard work but the view from the top was well worth it.
OTB Bicycle Cafe: perfect ride to the South Side
Pittsburgh’s first bicycle themed cafe and bar has opened on Carson Street in the South Side. Close to the South Side Riverfront Trail the OTB (Over the Bar) Bicycle Cafe is the perfect blending of tasty food and unique atmosphere. When you’re there try the Peddle Paddle Panini a combination of tomato, basil, mozzarella, and roast red pepper pressed in a warm panini sandwich; it’s a Venture Outdoors favorite!
